We are looking for individuals who have a commitment to the freedom of private home education and are responsible, articulate, and eager to learn the legislative process. The internship program is flexible depending on the strengths and desired learning outcomes of each intern. Assignments can range from office work (including answering phones, editing emails and articles, and scanning documents), social media website design, and information technology, to attending hearings and delivering letters at the Capitol.
We are particularly looking for students with these skills or interests:
Although we would prefer high school graduates or college students, we will consider an exceptional high school senior.
Benefits and College Credit:
Benefits to the intern include valuable experience and training for future employment, a Letter of Recommendation and Certificate of Completion, and important contacts at FPM and networking opportunities while on assignments.
In past cases, the internship has counted for college credit. We are willing to work with your college to make it count for credit.
This is an unpaid internship, but in some cases FPM is able to cover some expenses during the course of the internship.
There may, at times, be a part-time position at FPM which may be open to those who participate and complete the FPM Internship Program. It should not be assumed that completing the program in any way guarantees an automatic paid position with FPM.
Please contact us for more information or to request an application.
